Debt portfolio due diligence
Legal analysis of debt portfolios for management or acquisition. Review of loan status, contingencies and risk identification to support informed decision-making in credit asset management, recovery or acquisition transactions.
How we work
Our methodology for this service
Scope and methodology design
We define with the client the scope of the review, the asset types to be analysed and materiality criteria to design an efficient, decision-focused due diligence process.
Documentary analysis of the loans
We review the contractual documentation of each loan — deeds, security, modifications, registry status and payment history — to identify contingencies, documentary deficiencies and recovery risks.
Risk and contingency assessment
We quantify and classify identified risks — legal, registry, procedural — and produce a contingency report that facilitates the economic valuation and price negotiation of the portfolio.
Executive report and transaction support
We deliver an executive report with key findings, structuring recommendations and the necessary support for negotiating and formalising the portfolio purchase or management transaction.
Who this is for
Debt funds and investment vehicles analysing the purchase of NPL or NPI portfolios. Also financial institutions conducting pre-transfer asset review and servicers needing detailed legal analysis before taking on portfolio management.
